Feed re-posts

Posted by Simon Oxley in enhancements

If you have opened your feed reader this morning you may have noticed that many E20portal posts have been re-published. We apologise for this inconvenience.

If you subscribe to our feeds you may already know that we use FeedBurner to power them. The re-publishing occurred without warning, and is a consequence of our feeds migrating to Google as part of their FeedBurner acquisition.

Apart from the unintended re-publishing the migration should be transparent. You will not need to re-subscribe to our feed, and you will continue to receive updates as

We've updated the E20portal.com  events page to include 13 Enterprise 2.0 related conferences/seminars for 2009. We may have inadvertently missed some events off and I'm sure others will be added throughout the year. If you know of any we've missed, drop us a line events@e20portal.com or write a comment below and we'll post them

Our new on-demand app

Posted by Nick Barker in Untagged

You may have noticed we've been a little quieter on E20portal.com recently. It's not the US election, global recession or lack of E2.0 news stories/features. We have been busy preparing to build our new on-demand web monitoring service.

My co-founder Simon and I will continue to be involved with the Enterprise 2.0 world and maintain E20portal.com. Thank you for your past support. If you would like to be more actively involved with the website content please let us know on a comment below or email info@e20portal.com.

We are at the very beginning of our new product development. For those interested I'll post details of our new product site once it's up. I've posted a little more information about our new product on my personal

E20portal.com: Looking back on 2008

Posted by Nick Barker in Untagged

Since we launched E20portal.com back in June 2008 the site has received 10,000's of views. 40% of our visitors are through search engines with a 30%/30% split between direct traffic and referring sites.

The most popular section of site is About Enterprise 2.0, followed by Events and then Software Vendors. By far our most popular news post has been 7 Essential Enterprise 2.0 Definitions. It seems people are still searching the web on Enterprise 2.0 and want to know what it is.

Thank you for viewing our site in 2008 and we wish all our readers a happy and prosperous

Defrag & E20portal.com team-up

Posted by Nick Barker in enhancementsconference

E20portal.com and Defrag Conference 2008 have teamed up to promote Enterprise 2.0. Check out the E20portal.com logo on the Drag home page. It's a real pity we can't make this years Defrag as they have a strong focus on Enterprise 2.0. We have now included downloadable E20portal logos on our 'about page' for  media and press

Packing our bags for San Fransisco and Office 2.0

Posted by Nick Barker in Untagged

E20portal.com is headed to San Francisco next month for the Office 2.0 conference. We have been asked why we've chosen to go to this event and not the WikiSym in Portugal, which is on virtually at the same time. As many of us know much innovation has come out of the web which has potential to move into the Enterprise.

It seems Office 2.0 is a testing ground and staging post for new business technologies before they reach the Enterprise. Wiki's are now becoming well established and we want to find out what else maybe coming in the future. This year's event also has a strong focus on Office2.0 enterprise adoption.

I've a write-up of my chat with Ismael about this year's conference and also posted my thoughts on the events extreme deadlines and innovation on my social media innovation and marketing blog.

If you are going to at the conference please look Simon or I out as it would be great to meet. Lets us know if you are going on

Spreading the link love

Posted by Nick Barker in conference

Susan Scrupski: the Enterprise Irregular blogger; consultant; Office 2.0 conference organizer and generally very busy person, kindly blogged about E20portal.com last week. Susan said "The site is free and should be on everyone's feed reader. Make sure you check it out." Thanks Susan for the great endorsement and linking to the site. Also, our further gratitude goes to Bill Ives for continuing to spread the E20portal.com word with the AppGap group blog.

Before setting up E20portal.com we thought there was a real untapped demand for this type of service and it looks like we were right. At the Enterprise 2.0 conference in Boston we were overwhelmed by the interest and postive feedback the site recieved. This interest has continued and is gaining more momentum with the support and help of the E2.0 community. Please let us know your thoughts on what you would like to see from the site using our feedback

More improvements to E20portal.com

Posted by Simon Oxley in enhancements

We've been very busy behind the scenes at E20portal.com and have rolled out some significant improvements over the last few days.

Resources

Our resources section has been overhauled and now includes our featured blogs, case studies and industry reports all in one section. Access the top-level resources page via the link on the main menu to see all resource items in a single view, alternatively use the drop-down options to go to a specific category.

Industry Reports

We've updated our industry reports layout to make it clearer and more accessible. All reports are now included in the resources section. We'll be adding more reports in the coming weeks.

About Enterprise 2.0

We've created a new landing page for our ‘About Enterprise 2.0' section. We hope it will help you navigate through the content more easily. Access the new page via the ‘Enterprise 2.0' link on the main menu. We have much more to come in this space so keep an eye out for future updates.

Front Page

If you've visited our front page this week you've probably noticed our new feature rotator.  This will give us a place to keep you up to date on the new features we publish. We can also use it to draw attention to changes that aren't visible from the front-page - we wouldn't want you to miss out on anything :).

As always we'd love to hear your comments and feedback on what we've been up to. Let us know what you thoughts are in our comments or at info@e20portal.com.

A big THANK YOU to Bill Ives

Posted by Nick Barker in Untagged

We'd like to give Bill Ives a big THANK YOU for writing about and supporting E20portal.com on Monday this week. I met Bill at the Boston Enterprise 2.0 event in June and he kindly agreed to for us to run a feature on his KM & Portals blog. Bill finished his post saying "Kudos to Nick and his partners for starting this resource. We should support these efforts."

Following Bill's post we received an overwhelming response including lots of new members and suggestions for other Bloggers to feature (including Dion Hinchcliffe). We also received several new vendors and events entries which have now been published in our Vendor Directory and Events sections.  The new additions illustrate the international nature of Enterprise 2.0, with Connectbeam in California USA, iTKO LISA SOA in Dallas USA, WorkLight in Massachusetts/Israel and an event, 'Unwrapping the potential of Enterprise 2.0' in Hong Kong. We thank these suppliers for their
